2015 marks the Centenary of ANZAC, a defining moment in Australia’s history. To coincide with this important milestone, Gulgong MADS is proud to present “And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda” which will look at the past 100 years of Australia’s involvement on the world stage.

The very nature of war, its brutality and its effects on a people cannot be denied. In putting together this program we do no attempt to gloss over such realities but we also attempt to highlight the more enduring warmth and qualities of the human spirit. Through music, short plays, original news reels and images the evening will, hopefully, be both thought provoking, informative and entertaining. MADS is very pleased to be joined by members of the Mudgee Performing Arts Society for this production.

There will only be 2 performances, on Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd May with both starting at 8.00pm in the Prince of Wales Opera House. Tickets are $20 which includes a traditional Aussie Supper complete with ANZAC biscuits and damper. More information about buying tickets is shown below.

Given the very nature of the subject and related themes, MADS very strongly advises that parental discretion be exercised in deciding whether or not to bring young children to the performance.
